The Fund for Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School places a special emphasis on providing technological improvements and enhancements.  In addition, it will provide funding for special projects, enriching the curriculum, and various student programs.  Furthermore, donations made to The Fund act as a bridge between the funds generated by tuition and fees and the actual cost of educating a student.  Inf order to minimize the tuition variance and maintain a level of affordability, we must rely on your generosity.  No matter the size, every donation is appreciated.

Established in 2000, the endowment fund helps support the operations of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School, and provides scholarship and tuition assistance funding to the students who are in need. Aptly named, this fund is aligned with OLQP Founder, Sister Antoinette’s dream of having the ability to give all children, regardless of income level, the opportunities and blessings of an OLQP education. Gifts to the endowment fund are perpetual, and as the endowment grows so does the school’s ability to carry on this mission. We invite you to be a part of this growth!

Story of the Nest Egg
 

Approximately one year prior to the opening of OLQP, Sr. Antoinette was given a coconut shell with rocks in it by a gentleman who had picked it up the mountains of Mexico. He told her that this would be her nest egg for the school. When she askedhow the nest egg would benefit the school, he replied, “You will find a way!” For many years, this nest egg has inspired donors to give to OLQP. It stands as a symbol of how even the most ordinary person or seemingly insignificant object can be used to accomplish God’s plan.

He worked that way with Our Lady Queen of Peace, writing straight with crooked lines, choosing a very ordinary young woman to do the groundwork for Him a nd giving her the background and temperament necessary to get the job done."

This fund was established in 2002 by Jackie and Willem deGroot as a memorial for their daughter, Hannah deGroot. It was made possible by the generous contributions of their family and friends.

Hannah was in her second year of Pre-Kindergarten at Our Lady Queen of Peace School when she suddenly and unexpectedly died from an undiagnosed heart condition on January 23, 2002. Hannah was a happy, nurturing child who liked to play with her babies and her big brother, Max. Hannah loved music and always had a song in her heart and a skip in her step. The nurturing, loving environment at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School and its many wonderful opportunities to learn through song, dance, and prayer helped to make Hannah the very special child of God that she was. Her life on this earth, though brief, was truly a gift to everyone she touched.

The deGroots believe in the important role that a Catholic education plays in developing our children to be strong Christian witnesses and leaders of our faith in this life, ultimately preparing them for eternal life in Heaven.It is their hope that Hannah’s life can continue to be a gift to others through this Memorial Scholarship in her name.

This Scholarship is open to applicants PreK 3/ PreK 4 students who are enrolled full time in the Mon-Fri program.
